The Lies of Politicians And The Media – The Media
Why do we give these strangers, who make money by ratings not by trading information, our attention and at face value believe what they say? Living in Ireland I see the vast majority constantly believe what RTE (state broadcaster) tells them, and Sky News, an English equivalent to Fox News owned by Rupert Murdoch. Shock and outrage generate ratings, Shakespeare knew that four hundred years ago. I see many Irish people who despise the state broadcaster, yet willingly believe whatever it peddles as news, or certainly, the more shocking the news story, the more acceptable it is. News looks easy, spend money for a smart studio train everyone in Neuro Linguistic Programming and just add an audience. This seems to be all it takes to be considered an authority. The masses don’t think, the masses don’t question, the masses are hypnotised by the flickering box. Why oh why do the masses continue to believe the lies of politicians and the media?
Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it. – Hitler (That is indeed if he even ever said it, if you see my point.)
The Lies of Politicians And The Media – The Politicians
Seeing a politician on television the masses switch off their rational brains, they may bicker and moan, but at the end of the day they will pick a polished narcissist from the pack and vote for him. I have no doubt there are speech-writers, strategists, body language coaches etc to make these fools believable. All of this stuff obviously works, otherwise voters would not be voters, and we’d have less of these sociopaths destroying economies and starting wars. But the public do buy into this stuff, again and again, the world over. They seem happy to take that gamble, rather than demand to make their own decisions, they’re happy to pick a stranger who looked smart on the news and said something nondescript about helping the poor and building hospitals.
What is wrong with society to want a stranger, who you have never met, never will, know absolutely nothing about the character of this person, never heard in detail how they intend to do things, let alone proof they will do as they say, to run the most important areas of your life? If I hire anyone to do any work for me, I’m close by, I want to see how the work is done, if things do not go to my liking I step in, speak up, or perhaps call a halt to proceedings and find a better candidate for the job. There is no way I’m going to hire someone, pay them a sum that may increase along the way and then be unable to fire them or stop the work from continuing if I’m unhappy. Why does this make sense to voters to pay an unaccountable stranger? Where is the logic? There is none, this is habit, it is accepted as normal, like strangers on a box telling us what they deem ‘news’ to be, we assume they have done the proper research and arrived at this conclusion. We are farming out the critical thinking regarding the news we consume, and the strangers we hire to run our lives.
Would you pay a stranger whom you do not get to interview, to find a school for your kids? Would you pay a stranger whom you do not get to interview to go and hire a builder to build you an extension on your house, without you getting to approve the plans or the cost, or assess the track record of the builder? Not many would. But yet the voter will do this with many aspects of their daily lives, the most important of which being finance and health care.

Step back, take a look at the bigger picture.

There is no logic, this does not make sense, yet it is accepted as normal and civilised. So hand in hand the media and politicians peddle this madness as if it is perfectly acceptable and the mindless tax slaves buy into the circus, as if one combination of narcissistic strangers will make everything rosy. Step back, take a look at the bigger picture. Most ‘news’ on mainstream media is not news, its filler. The so called ‘news’ was most likely not researched by the network, they are repeating information Reuters sold them. Meaning many networks, the world over, are repeating the same interpretation they bought off one vendor.
There is a strategy to get into power. Speaking ones mind is a no no.
Politicians are not speaking their mind, they are regurgitating what was approved by their party, or campaign coordinators. There is a strategy to get into power. Speaking ones mind is a no no. Why? Because only some will agree, not as many as if you can’t be pinned down. Nobody knows what Obama meant by Hope and Change but it got him elected. ‘Of course we already know this!’ I hear you all cry. Perhaps you do, but come election day, will you line up and pick or will you have the courage to step back and see this farce for what it is?
So who are the fools? The media companies that make huge revenues from the masses tuning in night after night? The politicians we complain about day in day out, with their handsome salaries and pensions, government jets and multiple homes? Or the voters who actually go along with the parade?
