Predestined Life And The Illusion Of Time

predestined life and the illusion of time

Recently I have been contemplating the theory that our lives and decisions are predetermined. The idea that something, consciousness is steering my life. I don’t mean “I am being guided”. I mean choices are being presented in every moment, who or what is presenting these choices? Gary Weber, in a number of his talks discusses predestination in more detail, but points out in some tests the brain responds to a problem, before the problem is presented. This might explain how we “just knew…” someone was going to phone, or had that feeling, or intuition. It suggests that our brains are already milliseconds or seconds behind what is continuously unfolding in consciousness.

You can will what you want, you can’t will what you will. – Gary Weber

My own meditation and focus exercises over the past year have tested the possibility to see the future, using a random number generator set at 0 – 40 numbers, there is one in this link you can try out,  to develop the focus to see what number will come up next. My results have been quite high with this, the best tests resulting in an 80% success rate. I then tested deciding on a number in my mind, focusing on that number, and, for want of a better explanation, forcing that number to be the next result from the random number generator. This resulted in the same success rate of 80%. I should say these results occurred after a series of preparation exercises such as cold showers, various meditation exercises, being aware of blood sugar levels, and more.

So in one case I was potentially seeing one future approaching, in the second example, I was choosing a specific future and driving this reality to that future of choice. Once or twice can be explained away as coincidence, eight in ten times is not. In my most heightened states I have predicted the coming three numbers, although this has only happened a handful of times. So I would see say 8, 12, 25 and not know why, then the random number generator would spit out 8, then 12, then 25 and I of course I was shocked.

So I began to explore Time, from a novice perspective, are we living in multiple timelines (not dimensions)? When I hit the Generate button, are there 40 different realities, or 500 realities if I set the generator to 500, and so on? Perhaps due to my lack of true conscious awareness this present reality or timeline is like an uncaptained ship and may stumble on any of those 40 realities, I may hit my number, or not. As I take more control of my reality, of my mind and consciousness, I am in a position to steer the ship exactly where I choose, or, see the reality that I am already on course to meet with.

What has this got to do with predestination?

Well if coasting will result in reality A, and focusing our thought can result in reality B, I would like to think I had the free will to choose reality B. But the suggestion is that consciousness, not my brain, presented the idea for reality B, or the will to pursue it. So how smart am I to be choosing a reality? Am I even choosing a reality? Or am I just a vehicle for consciousness to experience itself?

What I am suggesting is if I were able to switch off the ego, the over-active chatter of worry about the future, past and so on, that I would experience Universal Consciousness, God Consciousness, call it what you will. To not only be utterly present in each moment, with each person, but to also be free to observe consciousness living, experiencing through my being. Eckhart Tolle has achieved this state. And Gary Weber after attaining it has been studying its effects on the brain ever since. The purpose of drinking ayahuasca, covered in my previous posts, is to achieve “no thoughts” on a consistent basis, so is meditation, although a far more gradual process.

We panic on a roller-coaster, we fight the journey, but the car is fixed on the tracks, and the route is already planned, wouldn’t it be much easier to relax and go with it, or perhaps there’d be no drama, no fear of death. Perhaps we think we need a fear of death to feel alive and have little understanding what it might be like to live without fear, to live in peace and joy, in each present moment.

In the next post linked here I discuss how predetermination ties in with karma.

    Peace and blessings
Really resonates with me. I am able to reach a state of consciousness where I am neither awake nor asleep.. Sometimes in this state I am able to see many diffrent levels of my consciousness. I am constantly finding my self in different timelines past present and future. After I can to a certain extent chart a course in linear time. Also energy in the enviroment like earthquakes, storms, cosmic rays help us generate a higher or clearer picture during my dream and unconscious states. Look forward to more of your articles.
